carrying weapons is not the solution. It just perpetuates the violence.

Seriously, suggesting that she destroy a man's eyes so...etc. is terrible advice. You could wind up in legal trouble yourself. Wouldn't that be nice? I don't think so.

Finally, I believe when he says he doesn't understand, it's not a language barrier. It's a cultural one. I doubt very strongly that this would ever happen in his native land. A transgendered person would be incredibly rare over there.

His reaction was flat out wrong. But his shock could have very well been genuine.

Don't let your own ethnocentrism blind you to the idea that other cultures operate differently than our own.
