Re: “Blood Quantum

There needs to be a blood quantum, but it should not be limited to one or two tribes. All the recognized tribes should be added to the full quantum of member that wishes to be enrolled. If I have ten different tribes in me they should count as long as they are verified. That way we don't have hundreds of people claiming to be native who are not. The largest amount will decide where the person will be enrolled at. If there are two equal amount of bloods then the person shall choose the tribe he wishes to be enrolled into. It has never been our way to in-breed we have always adopted from other tribes what is different now. We can only know our future through looking at our past. We never had reason to change many things in our culture why now? If it ain't broke why fix it? We don't need all the politics that we have about this we need change and soon before we thin our blood so much we have no identity. I always hear remarks about our people and I laugh to myself. We are one of the few people left that have our own identity. Walk down the street and look at the people, can you tell what country their people are from. Can you tell what blood is in there veins? Indian has never been about blood quantum it has been about a way of life. Obviously that has changed and we must adapt to that. We must stand together and overcome this. In a thousand years from now do we want to be a few pages of a history book?

Re: “How's that aggressive panhandling ordinance working?

Like these people want to degrade themselves for a few dollars. If you have not walked a mile in their shoes don't presume to know anything about their situation. It just makes me mad how Missoula treats their homeless people.

Re: “DUI detour

I like the good judges idea. Maybe she can pay for all this with her high roller wages. In these times of economic hardship why not spend more money on something that will not work. Treatment does work if properly administered. I just can't fathom this method working. If you get a DUI chances are that you have been at it for some time. Short term Tx is not gonna do anything but crowd our jails and cost taxpayers money. Maybe she should go through with her idea then all those who were in opposition can say I told you so. Only god can judge.

Re: “DUI detour

That is so dumb that only a cop would concoct such an idea. Many of the people that are getting these D.U.Is have bigger problems to worry about then getting arrested for D.U.I. I really don't think they will drive a car with orange tags they will just borrow somebody else's car. You can get a DUI for someone saying you were driving drunk. Not everybody has money for counsel that is worth a damn. Public defender is a joke, you are better defending yourself. How full do you want the jails how do you find more room for dangerous offenders. Well we ran out of room we are gonna have to kick some of you loose. How many more high speed chases do we need, especially if these people are drunk. If your looking at a felony and an orange plate why stop.
