Buy the Montana bear license plate and support this great organization.

Re: “Ad nauseam

While I HATE those obnoxious billboards, I have to wonder how much they really affect Burch on his 28,000 acres! I also wonder why ANYONE would sell their property off to something so obnoxious for a mere $1,500 a year.

Re: “Under the influence

Shockley, it IS up to the legislature to alter the drinking culture in Montana! If the legislature doesn't with more severe punishments, who will? Do you think the drunks will change on their own? NO! States that have strict laws regarding drinking do not have the same drinking culture as Montana because of the courage of their state legislatures to mandate a change of culture. These are the same legislatures that change culture on hurting others by any means by enacting tougher laws. Montana legislators are to blame for this drinking culture in Montana second only to the drunks themselves.

Re: “Predator puzzle

The easy "solution" is to kill all lions, wolves, and grizzlies. But when populations of elk don't come rebounding back, who do you want to kill then? The biggest predator is man. We are the top of the food chain. Between taking their habitat away and hunting them, they don't stand a chance. A study needs to be done, and I believe it will show hunting as the number one cause of the decline of elk. Wolves keep the elk herd healthy. They keep them on the move and take only the weakest ones. This makes for a more challenging hunt for hunters. If you want to be a predator, then you have to accept the competition and up your game to the challenge and stop whining about killing off all your competition. If it's your livelihood, then you have to work harder at it and hunt in different areas. It's not as easy as it once was.

Re: “GOP aims to criminalize homosexuality

How can Republicans be soooo pro war ("to defend our freedom") and then turn around and want to get into something so sacred a freedom as to whom we all have sex with? Why are Republicans so obsessed with sex? Why don't they concern themselves with poverty, homelessness, bringing our troops home safely asap? Republicans seem to like to have their sex often and with whomever they choose....whether they are married or not. THAT should be crime! Work on cleaning up your own bedroom before you venture into everyone else's. If the Supreme Court has already declared this illegal, why hasn't the legislature done THEIR job and removed it from the books? More lousy Montana politicians NOT doing their jobs again!

Re: “CSI: Bears

While I am all in favor of saving our wildlife, how does it cost 4.5 million dollars to study hair samples?

Re: “Palin coming to Missoula, but at what cost?

Sarah Palin is no role model for teenage girls. I don't know why Teen Challenge aligned themselves with her. There are so many other woman who would have drawn a more diverse crowd and who could have helped the cause of Teen Challenge. Sarah Palin will go anywhere to say anything for money. She is pathetic as a speaker, mother, a woman, and politician.
