A 'deer with wings' and canned water

Posted By on Fri, Jun 17, 2011 at 10:40 AM

Two television news stories stood out last night for being slightly strange.

The first has already been picked up by the AP and spread nationally internationally: A power outage in East Missoula was caused by an eagle dropping a dead fawn onto a power line. Hard to believe, but there were witnesses and photos. The choice quote: "You've got a deer with wings."

The other story isn't quite as strange, but interesting nonetheless: Flood victims in Montana are receiving nearly 52,000 cans of drinking water from Anheuser-Busch. The cans look like something from the Dharma Initiative, and don't include Anheuser-Busch's more famous beverage, but that's still pretty cool.

Turns out, the brewery has contributed more than 1.2 million cans to disaster areas this year.
