PEAS Farm pig posted on eBay

Posted By on Wed, Aug 25, 2010 at 9:02 AM

Garden City Harvest is betting that pork lovers will fork out big money for a locally-raised hog. The non-profit has posted a PEAS Farm pig on eBay.

The details:

  • Garden City Harvest
Help support Garden City Harvest by buying a locally-raised hog! Our hogs are raised here at the PEAS Farm in the upper Rattlesnake Valley with plenty of room to run, play, and dig. They are fed organic garden scraps and organic, Montana-grown grains making for some very delicious meat!

This auction is for one live hog. Garden City Harvest will provide the transportation for the hog to Lolo Locker (the closest local slaughter/butchering shop) when the hog reaches 250 pounds (ideal slaughter weight), but the auction winner is responsible for the costs of slaughter and butchering/packaging.

The auction winner's hog will be available shortly after that. We anticipate somewhere between 150-175 lbs of edible pork products from one hog.
