Discarded Christmas trees lie in the Splash Montana parking lot near Sentinel High School Monday morning. Missoula Parks and Recreation picks up the trees through Jan. 10 and drops them off at EKO Compost where they’ll be converted into mulch. Last year, EKO Compost processed more than 16,000 trees for the recycling program.
