Students will learn the history of this ancient literary and art form, will read aloud haiku’s and write and illustrate their own. The theme of the haiku’s’ will be Spring Awakening.
Students are encouraged to bring one item that signifies the arrival of spring to use as inspiration to write their haiku. Students will paint a picture of their object relating to their haiku in the style of a traditional Japanese landscape scrolls using watercolors.
Finished artwork and poem will be displayed at the ZACC.
