Atmosphere: If the maroon-and-silver clad football players painted all around the building don't tip you off, be warned: This is Griz country. The University of Montana's Washington-Grizzly Stadium sits just across the Clark Fork River, and for fans who don't have a ticket during football season, the Press Box is the next best place to get your team spirit on. Griz memorabilia crowds every wall in the place, from vintage posters to signed photos of former star athletes. According to bartender MacKenzie Lemcke, fall usually brings bleachers full of customers looking for a healthy helping of food and, of course, drinks. "The people that come here are great," Lemcke says. "They make the atmosphere."
What you're drinking: The only answer during football season is anything you can get your hands on. Mostly, though, Lemcke serves up high-octane mixers like fish bowls or the Press Box's Irish Trash Can—a potent combination of rum, vodka, peach Schnapps, blue curacao and triple sec with a can of Red Bull dumped on top. Lemcke calls it "delicious," like a fruity answer to the classic get-you-where-you-need-to-go Long Island Iced Tea. Hey, if it's green it's got to be good, right?
What you're eating: The Great Griz Breakfast. For only $8.50, you essentially get the entire menu: scrambled eggs, hash browns, bacon, ham, sausage, biscuits and gravy, French toast sticks, fresh fruit with danishes, and, to top it all, the Press Box's specialty crab cakes. "We have a line that lasts pretty much the entire time," Lemcke says of the Great Griz Breakfast, served every gameday from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. "The girls have to give out tickets so we can move fast."
Who you're cheering with: Griz fans, duh. Occasionally some unsuspecting fan of an opposing team may stray inside during game time, but "they are secretive," Lemcke says. "They don't fly their colors in here 'cause they know better."
