Best Public Servant

JOHN ENGEN

Readers' Pick

Also, BEST LOCAL POLITICIAN

Say what you want about John Engen's policies, but our mayor is a hell of a politician. He's friendly to everyone. He's accessible. He's self-deprecating and funny. Heck, the guy used to write a humor column for the Missoulian. He's also managed to make City Council operate like a well-oiled machine, a once unimaginable feat comparable to peace in the Middle East and a sensible solution for West Broadway. Most importantly, Engen appears to always keep Missoula's best interests at the forefront of his agenda—another rarity in the political arena. It's no wonder that the mayor doesn't have an opponent in this year's election, and no wonder why he continues to be your favorite politician and public servant.

FINALISTS:

2. Donna Gauckler

3. Jim Lemke

(Sorry, no information is currently available for other years in this same award category.)
