Best Place to Use Free Fried Chicken to Your Political Advantage
Forward Montana’s weekly Progressive Happy Hour at the Badlander draws together a rare mix of left-leaning politicos, environmental activists, journalists, candidates, public officials, non-profiteers, and, oh yeah, folks that just came by for the free fried chicken.
Amidst this intersection of political talk, greasy poultry and $3 make-it-yourself Bloody Marys, one can hear—or dispel—any number of tantalizing rumors fresh from the mill. There we’ve heard word of former Republican presidential candidate Rudy Giuliani coming to visit UM and a crazed campus organizer planning a “Crossdressers for Giuliani” rally to show “support.” We’ve also heard that one of the Indy’s very own reporters is, in fact, a Republican spy. (If that’s the case, Mr. Rove, we’d like our paycheck already.)
Whatever the scuttlebutt, this motley convergence seems to kick it up, making it our closest thing to D.C.’s The Capital Grille or the hallways of Helena’s state capitol building.
