Check the National UFO Reporting Center's (NUFORC) report on a recent UFO sighting that occurred on 7/22 over Baton Rouge, LA. Adult male, ex-military, witnessed 2 pewter colored, smooth, silent discs 60-70 ft wide, no lights, no windows, 200 feet off of the ground, moving in tight formation over his neighborhood. Witness is 150 yards from the flight path. A black Apache helicopter is following 200 yards behind. Sighting lasts more than 30 seconds. I call this extraordinary evidence, but many don't, and I do not understand why. Perhaps they never did well with those "What doesn't belong in this picture?" puzzles. I have had several people tell me of events just like this that they personally witnessed. NUFORC is receiving 500 + reports monthly, and its archives are replete with up-close-and-personal reports of eyewitness accounts similar to this one. Recorded radar captures of these objects are plentiful. The evidence is there for those who are curious and not afraid to look.
"True Believers" is a condescending term sometimes used to mock those who take the UFO/UAP phenomenon seriously. In reality, the "True Believers" are often those who have made a real effort to discover for themselves what has been documented about the UFO/UAP phenomenon.
Regarding the quoted comments of Skeptical Inquirer magazine's Joe Nickell, Ted's statement that he is "dismissive" is perhaps the best that can be said about his uninformed opinions. He would lead us to believe that all UFO sightings are of distant "lights in the sky", which is far, far from the Truth. There are many UFO reports describing up-close-and-personal UFO events in which football-field size, structured craft have been observed within 100's of feet from witnesses, moving over them silently at tree top level, and even landed on the ground. You can come learn about those events at The Jesse A. Marcel Library.
Mr. Nickell implies that all discovered cattle "mutilations" are weeks old, putrefied, and bloated. Such a characterization again ignores the important FACT that many of these animals have been discovered to be surgically dissected within hours after they were last seen alive and well. Precise surgical incisions, no blood in the wound or on the ground, serrated and cauterized surgical incisions, ALL soft tissue removed to bare bone, and the animal's entire blood volume absent - about 10 gallons in a mature cow. These events are highly enigmatic and are begging for a serious investigation specifically addressing the possibility that these procedures are not carried out by humans and are CLEARLY NOT animal predation, at least in the usual sense.
As Mr. Nickell stated, we do live on a small, isolated planet in the middle of nowhere. However, we have been discovered by one or more civilizations that are perhaps 100s, 1000s, or even millions of years older and more technologically evolved than our human race. We should EXPECT this from a Universe that is approximately 10 BILLION years older than our own solar system. These beings are here observing our civilization, curious about how we will deal with our nuclear weapons conundrum, our care of this planet's biosphere, our incessant wars, and, ultimately, with one another. It is possible that they are open to Contact with us, and the Crop Circles may be a beautiful and non-threatening means of sending us that message without too much disruption of our diverse, complex, and fragile societies. We would do well to take serious note of this situation, to try to find ways to make peaceful Contact with these visitors, and to determine what we might learn from them that may prove to be indispensable toward finding solutions to the myriad and grave problems facing humanity today. Aho.
I invite any who are interested in delving further into the UFO, Crop Circle, or cattle mutilation phenomena to visit the Jesse A. Marcel Library, located between Helena and Montana City, open Tuesday evenings form 7-10 PM. In defense of ex-Cascade county sheriff Keith Wolverton's book "Mystery On the Prairie", the book does contain good, close-up color plate images revealing the true surgical characteristics of the cattle dissections. These procedures are not "mutilations", but rather are procedures carried out with surgical precision that have occurred not only in Montana but also throughout the U.S., Mexico, Argentina, Brazil, and the U.K., Wales, Ireland etc. Wolverton's photos reveal skin incisions exhibiting a clearly serrated as well as cauterized edge. Such skin incisions are not seen with modern (human) surgical instruments, be they electrocautery units (commonly referred to as "Bovies"), harmonic scalpels, or the ubiquitous #15 Bard-Parker surgical blades. The enigmatic cattle dissection skin incisions are unique, and are not replicated in any past or present surgical incisions performed in U.S. operating rooms.
