Re: “Setting the line

Ts ts ts... Mr. "Logic", my a...! Shows once again that it takes considerably MORE than having been raised in some backwoods shed and trampling through nature heavily armed to know anything about ecology. IF wolves tended to exterminate their prey - then how could there have been abundant herds of elk, moose and bison when the white man first came to America, while wolves were just as abundant? Only ONE of the MANY arguments against wildlife massacres... Whole HERDS of elk are not slaughtered and wasted by wolves, but by diseases spreading due to overpopulation and too big herds and by lazy hunters with automatic rifles using wild animals for "target practice". But "Mr. Logic" is right in one point: Some things including some people just are no good. Like him, for example.
Now, MISTER "Logic", why DO you live far away from "zoo town"? Because you HATE nature and wildlife, trying hard to convert public lands to cow and sheep pastures and exterminating everything that dares to live there, with the exception of ungulates you want to "hunt"? Because you don't really want to HAVE "wild", but rather some fenced in woods for canned hunting of elk? Fenced in, of course, only so they won't disturb the cows...
I am quite happy NOT to live in Montana. At least I can take a walk on public land without having to check for hidden landmines at every step of the way. And what for visiting Montana? To watch elk, cows and sheep, and a few rotting carcasses in unchecked traps? To see trees and bushes and maybe some birds, as everything ELSE, if still alive, will run like hell when humans approach? Or to listen to some brave wolf hunters and trappers bragging about HOW they killed and exterminated EVERYTHING out there? Thanks, but NO thanks...
