It makes me not want to live in Montana. I could chase a ball into someone's "area" and be shot. I think the castle doctrine belongs in the age of castles; not here and now where mental illness and anger go untreated, and where innocent folks hope to live through mistakes. In the case of the German, he'd have to fully learn our culture to expect that trespass means death. It's not civil a bit. It's only to justify shootings, and we really didn't need to justify them.
