Arch Coal would not condemn Clint McRae's land to build the Tongue River Railroad through his land. Arch Coal is asking the federal government to exercise its monopoly of forceful coercion to confiscate ranchers' land to turn it over to Arch Coal to strip and ship coal to China in order to fuel China's economic machine, pollute the global environment and accelerate global warming. The US Constitution says the government may forcibly take private land and give it to a corporation only if it's clearly in the public interest. Does the Arch Coal Land Grab satisfy that test?
