great story. thats why i cant wait to get some free time and devour the latest Independent every week.
excellent article. mmm also hungry now, cant wait to give this a try. usually more a bar b que guy when its chicken, but this sounds excellent for for those cool fall days ahead. and yeah, grew up on a farm, definitely know where pork, beef and chicken comes from.
a very good story, but the whole time i was reading it, the bruce springsteen song glory days was also running through my mind.
still not sure what they want. i missed the Nam protests and the social upheaval of the sixties by a few years, even though i'm considered a boomer. during the spotted owl wars in oregon, there were many protests, most were college kids chaining themselves to gates or tree's. anything that would get play on the evening news. at the time i was trying to support my family by working in the woods, kinda hard to call my boss up and tell him i was chaining a gate open with me chained to it to support logging. your article was interesting, as usual, but i found little substance in it. they seem to be against everything but dont have a clue how to make their little utopia work.
maybe we need to change the culture instead of blaming guns. most of the people I know grew up with guns and no one felt the need to go murder anyone.back then the most voilent films I can remember seeing was a double bill of James Bond at the drivein. now it seems 24-7 with the video games and movies each trying to outdo the other. Just recently two young boys were caught with gun and knife at school in Colville, wa. they planned to kill some of their classmates. where are they getting their ideas from?
I drink cold smoke at Quinn's hot springs. I stock up on cold smoke at Thompson falls on the way home, the nearest location I can find it. Make more and sell it in north Idaho, not that I mind driving over to get it, very nice drive sandpoint to Quinn's.
