In addition to HB 249, was Brendens SB 143, hearing on Jan. 31st. We need to contact this Senate committee and let them know we are against this and the other Anti-wildlife bills. http://womwe.blogspot.com/

Re: “GOP "solves" corner-crossing question, by reducing funds for wildlife habitat”
Rep. Flynn is a rancher and outfitter - Hidden Hollow Hideaway Ranch, Cattle and Guest Ranch, Hunter Guiding in Townsend. Many of these farmer/ranchers turned legislators are pushing special interest legislation that benefits them, at the cost to the public. Farmers and ranchers comprise 5% of the Montanan population, employ 8% of Montanan's, yet they make up at least half of the Senate Fish and Game Committee, and the House Fish, Wildlife and Parks. They make up at least 1/3 of the total house (at least so far, I havent finished researching them all yet, nor have I started in on the senate). If you look at the bulk of the anti-wildlife legislation produced this season, the majority is by republican farmers and ranchers. This is special interest government, not public representation. This is bullsh$t, literally. HB 404 needs to be killed and this special interest legislation exposed.
