so i was young and remember my mother talking about oil drilling on her land with a small hope to get us out of poverty...i grew older and signed my leases uneducated, now im a college student in washington. more educated than ever befor, kicking myself for signing papers. first of all, because i signed these leases, and you say millions have been made. why have i seen no royaltys? my land has been drilled on for years and years. its easy to say nothing has came from my land, but has thier been oil taken? im sure i am being robbed while a selected few roll around in my money that was never given to me! Then again, now, i do not want people drilling on, under, or across my land. i have studied and learned of the damages and heart ache that drilling does to our great mother earth, what it will do to our grandchildren and thiers aswell. you can take my pennies, my dollars today, but i am in school getting my degree and tomorrow i will come and take your jobs, your money, your drills and i will remind you of what its like to live in poverty. I AM BLACKFEET, AND I LOVE MY LAND!!!!
