AMEN TO YOU GREG!!! Oh how I agree so much with you on this one!
What a complete PIG this "man" is!!! What makes him think he can even get away with such activity? I'm glad she got that money - and I think she should have gotten more just to make sure it NEVER happens again ANYWHERE. Women just should never have to put up with crap like that. It's ridiculous!
I agree with you, Greg. It's always about money - if it costs more money, then out the door goes the sensibility. In a lot of cases, I don't think the mentally ill belong in prison - they belong in a hospital. But that's the MENTALLY ILL and this shouldn't be used so loosely or taken advantage of, either.
Asking what a child's life is worth is subjective...how much were you worth as a baby??? You grew up to be an adult - like everybody else. We all start somewhere. Who knows...this baby could have been a very important person. That is why there's no way you can say the 40 year sentence is excessive. I'm sure the judge felt it was appropriate for a reason. As far as "when is it paid for?", I would think it would take longer to pay for killing a baby than someone older - simply because this child had no chance to live a life whatsoever...it was snuffed out. And the only reason this guy hasn't killed an adult is probably because he couldn't get away with it as easy as a baby. In my opinion, he got what he deserved.
I definitely think one of true definitions of an artist is one who allows the music to flow naturally through the current life state. That's what keeps the new music enlightened.
Can't wait to check out these guys - sounds interesting. I'm not into hard metal, but my knowledge of all music genres opens my mind to any possibilities. I'm a longtime ago punk fan, and have always loved rock and roll (not the cheesy overplayed class(ick) rock). I will definitely check it out and WELCOME the new arrival! BRING IT DOWN!!!
AMEN TO THIS!!! It makes so much sense that it's almost pitiful that the incredible minds of the government couldn't come up with this sooner - and/or already accomplished it. I think the generational gap of society always viewing marijuana used in any way is just bad - thus equating it with cocaine and meth which everyone that has ANY knowledge of the three would know that there is ABSOLUTELY NO COMPARISON!!! I refuse to go into any of the reasons why - it's absolutely ridiculous. I have a hard time even thinking alcohol should be legal before marijuana...why is that? There is far more harm done by alcohol than marijuana. There is no medicinal use of alcohol USE. There is far less crime (mainly violent) committed involving marijuana v. alcohol and that has been proven time and time again throughout the years. The whole "gateway" issue is not applicable to marijuana. All of that aside...if marijuana was decriminalized, as it should be, there are COUNTLESS positive things that would occur as a result. Everything from more revenue for the Federal, State, City and County taxes. Better management of land placing it in the hands it needs to be in. Less crime involved entirely because the power of distribution would result in less crime committed PERIOD...there wouldn't be overcrowded prisons with non-violent offenders being incarcerated for marijuana...hopefully in the future this time will be looked back in the light of "Can you believe people actually were incarcerated for smoking weed?" HOPEFULLY!!!
