There’s no reporting law. But the USGS collects the data on every months production from all the mines. The BLM knows which mines are on public land. My guess is that there aren’t many producing hardrock mines on unpattented claims if any, so this wouldn’t bring in much money for the government. The goal of this is prevent new mines. These same environmental groups are trying to get Grijalva appointed as Secretary of Interior. They want Grijalva to redo all of Babbits obstacles that Bush (Norton) fixed.
