"it's important to look at the broader economic impact of decriminalization" - Mark Muir
- Mark nailed it on the head. While more and more of our tax dollars go to fight the war on drugs for 40 consecutive years drug addiction rates have not changed one bit. Seems like drug addiction and overdose deaths are on the up rise. What a waste of money. It's time to look at the economic benefits of providing care and rehab for drug addicts compared to the astronomical costs of the war on drugs and the prison system. It's time to look at the economic benefits of keeping someone with their family and helping them beat drug addiction vs the cost of pulling parents from families, paying for their prison time, and paying for their children to grow up without parents.
