Who is this reviewer? As we know, reviews of any kind are rarely objective and always colored by the gender, age, and attitude of the reviewer. A sixty-something woman will give a far different review than a twenty-something man -- same goes for restaurant reviews. Books, like food, elicit a wide range of opinions. I wonder just how much focus this review gave to the book, since he didn't even pick up what the suicide person did for a living, which sets the tone for one of the most important subjects of the book: the demise of the logging industry. And he probably is totally NOT tuned in to a female's coming of age challenges anywhere. The Indie is known for this kind of thing, however -- not the first time I've heard complaints about bias and downright errors in reporting, especially concerning anything related to the US Forest Service.
