Re: “A place to hide

Jimmy, you are so right about the wilderness being an absolute necessity in our world today. That we must have some place to feel free of our daily restraints of civilization. There is a point you have forgotten however, that prevents us from truly enjoying the wilderness today and that is fear. No it's not fear of the animals that we share the wilderness with. They are there (for now) and we are careful (some of us) to respect their homes and leave them alone. No our fears are man made, for the wilderness is not free of man's encroachment and abuse and if we decide to hike into that area of the wilderness (and we don't know where it is) we will surely end up in harms way.
You see Jimmy, we want to venture into the wilderness for the pure joy of the freedom to hike, horseback, walk our dogs, take pictures, watch the birds or just mellow out somewhere in the back country...but our FEAR of the HUNDREDS of TRAPS set all over the wilderness prevents our venturing anywhere near PUBLIC lands today! We fear for ourselves, our children, our animals! We fear that the continued destruction of OUR (yours and mine) wild animals for sport and money through legal slaughter will eliminate ours (and yours) greatest wilderness asset...the animals! Until the day comes that TRAPPING ON PUBLIC LANDS is eliminated....we have NO WHERE TO GO...PERIOD!!!

Re: “Wolves

The cartoon is correct..the mentality of Montana is "Kill em all" and this does not just apply to wolves...Every trapper in this state has the same mantra!

Re: “Can't do it alone

Susan...you are a wonderful human being and a good doctor and sadly the women that need you will have to find another way...however that will happen, I hope they stay safe. You, my dear, need to let it go and if you can just leave this behind you and move on. It is sad that the mentality is so low in this state (and others) that heroic individuals are forced to leave...which leaves the rest of us at the mercy of these radical hate groups that have nothing better to do with themselves. God (my God) blessed you Susan and He will continue to do so!!!

Re: “Can't do it alone

And you, Donald, and all your friends that have been involved in this (i.e. Twyla Klundt) and other atrocities in this state (and others) in the name of your "religion" are an abomination. You are no different than 3rd world countries that force women into slavery or cut off their clitoris to keep them under control in the name of their "RELIGION"! How dare you or any person decide for a woman what she will do with her body! God sure as hell didn't give you that right and neither did Jesus! It is and always has been the nature of religions to make their own rules and you and yours have certainly proved that true!! BTW Just to add to this...I have a question...IF LIFE IS SO IMPORTANT TO YOU AND YOURS...WHY DO YOU ALLOW AND RADICALLY UPHOLD TRAPPING IN THIS STATE?? What mentality creates this dichotomy?

Re: “Slippery slope

As a "seriously dedicated bike person" why not show your world that this needs to be stopped. The wilderness needs to remain wild and we as humans need to make sure it does. When (as my daughter and her significant other do) bikers are riding the trails they have no concept of what is going on around them and most don't care..it's all about speed. And now with the new fat tire rage we can't even go in the winter without being run over by the maniacs out there trying to prove themselves.
