Re: “Wolves

Cathy, you are clueless. Am I the only female with a brain around here? Hunting is a sport for a lot of people, but I know a lot of people that hunt because they need the meat as well. People are predators, we hunt, we have always hunted and will always hunt. Why don't you spend your precious time concerning yourself with animals that are actually ENDANGERED. Wolves are NOT endangered. And yes, they do kill for fun. And they don't just kill 1 elk here and there for fun, not too long ago a pack killed nearly 120 male adult sheep on a ranch in Dillon in one incident. They don't kill to eat a lot of times. If only people like you would actually do some research and stop acting like wolves are the most precious creatures on earth that can do no wrong. I love wolves, but they need to be managed. What is so hard to understand about that? We aren't saying get rid of all the wolves, kill them all. We are saying, if they are going to be part of the ecosystem in Montana, just like everything else, they need to be managed. People will never stop hunting, so get over it. I agree with you Brad, its all about stopping hunting. People like Cathy would love hunting to stop, snowmobiling, four-wheeling etc. These are family activities and it's much better than sitting at home playing video games, but who needs family activities? A lot of hunting is about spending time in the woods; hunters respect wildlife, they love nature. Maybe get out and spend some time in the woods Cathy and report back to me what you see. You remind me of the typical "lets stop fun for everyone because I don't agree with it". Why don't you just mind your own business and stop talking about something you know nothing about.

Re: “Wolves

Well put Paul. I don't understand how these concerned wolf lovers can be so worried about a species that is nowhere near endangered. Why not put some effort into animals that are actually in trouble, like the Amur leopard and Sumatran rhino. If only they would put half their time and effort into protecting a species that is actually in trouble. I bet all these hunters you see around the world donate a lot more money into wildlife conservation than any of you wolf advocates. But I get it, wolves are like our companion dogs.... wake up, they are not your run of the mill man's best friend and would tear your dog up for the fun of it if they got the chance. But keep pretending you care so much about wildlife; caring about one animal is not caring about wildlife, it's caring about your own personal interests.

Re: “Wolves

I agree Don, everything needs to be managed and wolves are no exception. They have devastated the elk populations in Montana and if they continue to grow in numbers and kill like they do, they will die of starvation. Which is worse, being managed by hunters and the money for tags being given to the elk foundation or something of the likes or them starving to death? I don't hate wolves, I hate the people that have made people hate wolves by their overprotection of an animal that is no more special then a mountain lion, which can be hunted. I have never seen another predator kill for fun except a wolf, and that's a shame to feel bad for wolves and not the elk population.
