If you empathize with these grizzlies' inability to forage without coming in contact with humans or "our" food supplies and bird feeders--then please help the land trusts in the U.S. West to connect wildlife corridors in the five ecological areas where grizzlies are still holding on. All wildlife needs the ability to travel safely from one foraging area to another, including the birds using those feeders. Where grizzlies can travel safely in the west, so can all other wildlife. For more information on grizzly habitat issues, see "vital ground.org" and read about the Grizzly Predicament. Grizzlies need your help--and understanding. They would prefer to avoid us crazy humans.
Good to see such a well-written and researched article--kudos to Alex Sakariassen. May his clear explanation of Vital Ground's focus help in the fund-raising for that December 15th deadline. What an opportunity to be a good neighbor to all wildlife--where grizzlies can live and travel safely on what remains of their normal range in the United States, so can all other wild species.
