Re: “Break with convention

His devotion to the other 98% of the GOP platform is what drives me to do everything in my power to send Denise to DC to replace him. I'm sure he's a nice guy and I'm glad to see so many of my fellow veterans continuing to serve their country even after discharge but his Party has lost it's bearings and is foundering on Fascist shores. Voting for anything other than the GOP candidates is simply a matter of self defense-we cannot allow the Greedy Oligarch Party to continue their destruction of our government, the tool We The People use to protect ourselves from aristocratic rule.

Re: “Not even close

it's making a comeback because when you take it it makes you feel good. Taking substances that make us feel better has been going on since we first climbed down from the trees-indeed some researchers suspect it may have been psychoactive plants that may have provided the trigger that caused us to evolve into the highest-reasoning creatures on the planet-well, cetaceans might beat us and just not see any advantage in communicating with us? Anyway, the answer to drug use and abuse is to practice harm reduction through education and treatment and not incarceration. Many meth addicts would function much better if we simply supplied them with Adderal or Ritalin and eliminate the bath tub drugs from the market. Experience shows most addicts go through fairly regular abuse patterns and even w/out treatment survivors quit after 8 years through boredom and a bit of maturity. Addiction is NOT a disease-it is a side effect of drugs used to treat disease-whether by a doctor or self-medicating. We need to treat the disease/disorder and the addiction will solve itself. BTW, certain plants seem to ferment during the floods in the Amazon and cause inebriation in dolphins who eat it-pretty much the only plant material they've been seen consuming...

Re: “Two problems at once

Zinke's not-so-stellar military career meant he had to find SOMETHING to do if he wanted to get his share of the American Dream. Unfortunately he chose politics and we reap the benefit of his short-sided thinking. We have to stop electing people who hate government to run our government. It's like hiring a vegan as chef at Black Angus-they may know how but their heart just isn't in it...

Re: “It's (not) a disaster

Jr2000-see the 1994 Pentagon White Paper for the first mention of global warming as it related to changing conflict zones followed in 1996 when they published their first BLACK BOX warning that climate change and the related environmental and socioeconomic upheaval was going to surpass China and Russia and other political actors as our greatest security challenges. The pentagon warnings were spurred in part from intel developed by Exxon/Mobile and Shell Oil in the 80's. In spite of the lies Fox has been feeding you very few scientists were concerned with an Ice Age-as they claim-in the 70's and only a slightly higher number were concerned about CO2 and global warming. Of course one of them was A.C.Clarke....The rest of us aren't so sure humans will survive to build a Garden for Rama in space and there so far is NO PLANET "B".

Re: “It's (not) a disaster

Geez, I worry my grandchildren may not have a liveable planet in 60 years. So I guess I'm an extremist? As for Jr2Jr2000-I have to warn you the Pentagon has fallen for the Hoax since they have been warning us since 1994 that global warming is our GREATEST NATIONAL SECURITY THREAT. The Pentagon, you know over where all those liberal tree-huggers collect....

Re: “At the MPG Ranch, a watchful eye on the wild

I reckon if all the buyers of Public Lands were going to conduct themselves like these owners I might not object quite as much-though I worry the next generation may not have the love of the land this one has and subdivide in the end anyway. That said I would far rather forego property taxes on this ranch than any Church owned property. Jesus knew the difference-save your public prayer, this is where God lives...
