I was at Pinehaven from February 1995 to June 1997. I tried to runaway and broke my leg. Two weeks later I was thrown around the room while Ned Kent was holding the pressure points behind my ears.....with a broken leg in NO cast. It had been surgically repaired. Admittedly I was feigning suicide for attention, and in hopes they would send me home, but it was unnecessary punishment. HOWEVER!!!!!!!!!! I witnessed much abuse. Verbal, mental, and physical. Of two former residents that have chosen two comment, I can verify some of the abuse they mention.
The Bible says in Matthew 18:6 (ESV)
"But whoever causes one of these little ones who believe in me to sin, it would be better for him to have a great millstone fastened around his neck and to be drowned in the depth of the sea."
The pain caused to children scars them for life. And most kids are going to Pinehaven to get away from pain and suffering. How many abused children does it take to make it important? The first one should have been enough!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
