When pressed, Port of Lewiston Manager Daoeringsfeld admits that if these loads don't roll, 5 Port employees might be laid off. This route through the Clearwater and Lolo corridor is not about jobs for Idaho or Montana, it is about Korean modules, Asian shipping, Dutch trucking, Canadian oil, paid off politicians, and huge PROFITS for ConocoPhillips (4th Quarter reported 1-26) whose earnings just jumped 54% and Exxon Mobil, also reporting income jumps of 55%.
These companies can afford the safer routes in existence through the Great Lakes or north from the Panama Canal. We will not roll over so they can roll over us.
