What a perfect juxtaposition in this week's "voices." An entertaining, articulate, and meaningful challenge to stop marginalizing alternate points of view as moron talk; followed by a diatribe, written by an elected official, who declares (in his FIRST SENTENCE) that any and all who identify as Democrats are morons. Thank you Tim Petersen for speaking up. Thank you Bob Lake for proving Tim's point.
I rarely read an Indy feature in one sitting because (a) I'm perpetually pulled in several directions, (b) most features are segmented in a fashion to facilitate interrupted reading, and (c) though usually interested in the subject, I'm seldom drawn in as deeply as when I'm reading a novel. I read this feature in one sitting. Beautiful in it's structure, articulation, and reflection. Jamie created an homage to Maclean that adds his own unique voice. Love, pain, and beauty weave through all of our lives. Well done, Jamie!
