This is not the final Senate vote, so we'll see how both Max and Jon vote on the issue.
If government is making some 500 million dollars on the backs of those drinking drivers then government has no incentive to stop the problem. These bills won't just stop this year. In the 2013 legislative session we will see more bills because the ones they passed in 2011 are not working. Somehow I get the feeling that the legislature would like to ban alcohol with an exception for the legislature.
Look the problems with I-148 are the same problems with legislation passed by the legislature. We get a simple bill and then let someone else fill in the details. Legislators don't write their own bills so some things are hard to defend in committee when a sponsor can't answer a question about a bill. If folks running for the legislature did their homework, we would have a much better session.
So the article is saying that the Nature Conservancy would not allow public access. This land was already saved by the different groups and we just wasted dollars. Who was making money on this deal. it wasn't the taxpayers.
