you only read the last part. before being set out as a wilderness the parameters for setting out tracts of land are spelled out. You see there is a before section that pertains to the selection process. and those rules are not disposed of after the area is designated.
so please refer to the whole process. it will educate you
read the wilderness act. it states that all existing structures be maintained and protected.
so the problem is that the FS did not follow the rules and allowed a structure to become unstable.
We have wilderness areas that are crisscrossed with roads, so what does roadless or wilderness really mean? Do you ever stop and think about how the Bob Marshall has become trampled and disfigured while following the guidelines of wilderness protection?
It was not long ago that the wolf loving community began its war against the native wolf populations and destroyed the natural ecosystem in place.
They supported the importation of an invasive species of wolf that has obliterated the natural species and is diseased.
So when you and others say you support the wolf and need it to be returned to the protected status do you mean the Native breed (that is extinct now by your actions) or the invasive breed that is diseased?
I am trying to figure out your argument. Being that I did not support the transplantation of this new species. Even the Montana Fish and Game Department acknowledges the new species is dominant over the original one. What are you thinking???????????
Missoula does not want it in their county so they would not mind sending it down the river like the contaminants behind the Milltown dam. If anyone really cared about the environment they could just float past the ponds by the old papermill and see the black pollutant flowing into the river and observe the dying fish.
after WW2 the returning soldiers were given very little time to get their taxes caught up. why should today be any different? Death, pain and taxes. Why can't the taxes be collected at the sale of the property in the future by the owner?
please remember that this area was once a tropical area. Your concerns are not going to change the cycles the earth has been going through for eons. Your endeavors while well meaning are like the little boy on the titanic trying to scoop out the water with a small pail. Sorry lets look at finding ways to accept the change and look at working with nature.
the printing of this article in itself places a strong decision that the Missoula Independent is just trying to promote ideals taught by a few uninformed teachers. Does the U of M believe that all of the tropical plant life and animals being found across Montana were planted by some one or thing trying to impart their own agenda?
