Please don't hate me for noting that I skied creamy, thigh deep powder in Liberty Bowl today. Soooo nice.
Snowbowl closed a week early this season because warm March weather melted enough snow to make coverage marginal. Of course, a winter storm came the week after. Bona fide face shots available today for those willing to hike for their turns, and plenty of snow to ski down to the parking lot. Should be very, very, very good again on Monday—as in thigh deep on the upper mountain.
Great spring skiing under blue skies today. Mind-blowing views of Glacier National Park. Thanks to Riley Polumbus for taking me on a few very satisfying runs.
A mantle of fresh made for some good turns on Monday, Jan. 28. Very nice up top. Dust on crust down lower. The summit's a bit rocky, and we had to pick our way through the top third of Liberty Bowl, but had excellent cut up powder the rest of the way through Screaming Left. Lots of good fun lapping the Lone Peak Triple chair later, with soft snow and good vis.
Surprisingly good skiing Jan. 26, and getting better by the hour. Snowing hard around lunchtime, even at the base. It will definitely be worth the trip tomorrow.

Outstanding coverage for mid-December. The top skied very well on Sunday, Dec. 16, with a nice soft surface on the groomers and pockets of powder in the trees. But I was glad to have my rock skis at the end of the day. The last couple hundred vertical on Paradise was a minefield. But they're just one good storm away from mid-winter conditions, and it looks like it's coming this week.
