The Montana Republican Party's platform also includes the following:
We reaffirm the principle espoused by our nation's founders that our court system belongs to the people, not the government. We recognize both the power and the moral obligation vested in juries to secure justice by judging both the facts of a case and application of the law itself. We support requiring judges to fully inform jurors of their constitutional rights and responsibilities."
I hope all jurors will keep in mind that their right and responsibility to judge the law as well as the facts of a case includes the right and responsibility NOT to punish someone for a completely peaceful and private act that violates no other person's rights.
Help me out here. There are plenty of things I disagree with Mack on, including this silly idea that sheriffs are or should be saviors of some sort. But in the 35 years I lived in Arizona, the last half of which were in southern Arizona, I don't recall anything that would lead to the label "disgraced law officer" being applied to him. What specifically is that in reference to?
$12.7 million divided by 26.8 jobs equal $473,880 per job. If the number presented in the article are correct, this is bullshit. This is clearly a huge waste of taxpayer dollars.
