An open field of "treated" sewage and grease that the EA report says will have the smell minimized. I can only imagine what the area around this field will smell like in the middle of 95 degree summer day for individuals visiting the Lee Metcalf wildlife preserve or fishing/ floating down the Bitterroot river. Wildlife will wander through these fields eating and sleeping right next to the sewage.
With an active stream "100 yards" away from this field we are risking contaminating miles and miles of pristine river all for saving a few dollars and for a land owner looking to make a quick dollar. This is a terrible idea that will effect the heart of the Bitterroot Valley for generations to come.
Call the DEQ today and let them know that this is a terrible idea that at the very least needs much more research and testing.
