Interesting comments from Pat Williams. The voter turnout this year for the State of Montana was 55.87%. That represents the 3rd highest turnout over the last 20 years of mid term elections. The mid term turnout in 2006 was 56.42%, in 2002 48.4%, in 1998 50.7%, in 1994 56.31%, and in 1990 55.73%. It does not appear to be a record to me.
Therefore, his final comment regarding too little participation among people is also inaccurate. Much has been written, and of course all the "talking heads" can talk about, is the a new grass roots movement among the American Electorate that has had massive implications this election cycle. From everything I can gather in the media, there has been a much renewed participation in the political process by US citizens.
This sounds like a great book! I just finished reading "48 Liberal Lies About American History: (That You Probably Learned in School)" by Larry Schweikart. I wouldn't recommend it to Alex, unfortunately it points out all the rewriting of the history that has been done by the left wing book publishers, and that kind of truth appears to hurt Alex's feelings. Oh, I also think it would be great to reintroduce the "New England Primer" to the school system. You can track the decline of the public school system to the discontinuance of the use of that book.
