Wow, John. Thanks for such a thoughtful comment and the additional info.

We purposefully didn't use the word "native" in the story for exactly the reasons you mention. It was the baseball journalists of the time who wanted to coin Kibble, who had at least been living in Roundup for a good while, as the first Montanan, native or not, and we just wanted to note that wasn't the case. But thanks for introducing us to Remneas, Wheezer and Steamboat. That's great stuff.
