Alone on the Range
According to Fish Wildlife and Parks, horses have been kept on Wild Horse Island since the early 1700s, when they were first introduced to the Northern Rockies. In the 1880s, when tribes were pushed onto reservations, the horses went wild.Image credit: Photo courtesy of Fish, Wildlife and Parks
