Alone on the Range
Wild horses on Wild Horse Island grew old and died over the past few years, leaving a single black gelding alone. “Horses are social and I think that it’s certainly got to be feeling a little bit lonely right now,” says Dave Landstrom, regional parks manager for Flathead Lake. “That’s one of the reasons we’re anxious to get some of the other animals out there.”Image credit: Photo courtesy of Fish, Wildlife and Parks
