2013 Year in photos

Barry Beach served nearly three decades behind bars for a murder he says he didn’t commit. In December 2011, a Montana district judge freed him after finding that new evidence could alter his original 1984 conviction. Beach enjoyed 18 months of tenuous freedom until the Montana Supreme Court reversed the lower court’s decision and reinstated Beach’s sentence on May 14. He was returned to prison to continue serving a life term.
