Re: “Your future, a little early

Thx! So far, I've found some nice free astrology personalized (natal charts) and some really cool tarot readings, but one thing that really blows my mind is this free numerology reading "99 Numerology Report" It is so accurate about my character (some stuff only I know..) and it predicts things that are going to happen to you.. It helped me with some job decision I had to make... Check out

Re: “Attention shoppers

South Gate Mall has all this money to buy property and by all accounts the mall is doing quite well. So why do the progressives on the City Council want to give the Mall welfare money, paid for by our taxes? That's all these taxing districts are, just a way to increase taxes so our neighbors can make improvements to their property. South Gate Mall doesn't need our welfare. End it.

Re: “Selling Missoula

To the disgusting "man" who feels we need to address women raping men. We will address it/when it ever happens. By all means, call 911!

Now, let's talk about you and your ugly, angry persona and mean-spirited, hideous ideas. You knew rape survivors would read your remark and you posted it anyway. You are Exhibit 1 in the rape culture.

Re: “Food

Chickens and turkeys are sentient nonhuman animals who value their lives--just like human animals do. Chickens are intelligent, have complex communication and decision-making skills, and can show empathy. Likewise, turkeys are intelligent, friendly animals. "Humans," writes author Jeffrey Moussaieff Masson, "seem to take a perverse pleasure in attributing stupidity to animals when it is almost entirely a question of human ignorance." People concerned with compassion and justice might want to explore these ideas further before depriving chickens and turkeys--and all sentient animals--of their precious lives for mere appetite. Perhaps start at United Poultry Concerns:

Re: “Selling Missoula

Let's discuss our problem with alcohol while we're at it. Right now I feel we're ignoring that pretty large elephant in the room.

Re: “Snakes in the grass

My wife once almost stepped on a rattlesnake at a pullout spot near the top of the Bison Range. It was coiled and easy to observe and so I am sure it was a rattlesnake. That alone makes me think it is possible to have one on Jumbo.

Re: “Getting schooled

It's not about 'letting people take money out of the system,' the greater problem is fewer and fewer putting money into that system.

I don't pay property taxes, Dan, how about you? I'm betting that you don't, and probably won't be for some time. Most young people won't be, and what then? What happens in a couple decades to funding for public schools? Already Missoula County wants another $158 million this year.

How do you justify that, and how in the world are homeowners on fixed incomes supposed to pay that? Sure, it might only be $10 or so, but if you at all the other $10 or so together over the past few years that the local, state, federal, and schools have asked's a lot of money.

Now we're kicking old people out of their homes, and that's a further hit to property tax income, which again, schools rely on.

Wow, we have such a shaky ground to walk on right now, and no one is discussing this. Why is that?

Re: “School Choice

This is a real boost to charter schools. We know that young people won't be paying many property taxes, as they're so far in school debt that they can't get a mortgage. Twenty years from now our public schools will be in bad shape because of that, but with this influx of cash plus continuous funding from the well-off of the state, charter schools will push ahead.

Who do we blame for this? Well, a myriad of people and issues - student debt, out of control consumerism, high house prices, lack of jobs, lack of good paying jobs...the list goes on.

If you want to look down the road at where Montana will be in a few decades, it's not pretty.

I understand the "Black Widow Spider Is allready "Endangered" I wonder if these Species will get the same protection and re-introduction as the Grey Wolf did.???

Re: “Interchange changes

Roundabouts have been shown to generally reduce injuries 90% to 100% when compared to stop lights. They also lower pollution, travel time and maintenance costs, while providing better safety for walkers and people on bikes. Roundabouts have to be designed well, with good geometry. -Bob Giordano, MIST

Re: “So mote it be

I have to laugh at Dorinda and Alf and Smoke who with out known a thing about what they are talking about bash on it or dismiss it as a cult. Ken called it in his comment.

We as Masons have no ulterior motives other than to make good men better men in both their family lives and in the world around them. We learn from our history and from the very men who walked the very same path before we were ever thought of or born.

Its a choice everyone makes for themselves. My family has no masonic history, no one guided me to join DeMolay or to become a Mason. I made those choices, to become a better person in the world and in my own home. When I was initiated as a Mason I took the same obligation that other masons across time have taken, memorized the same words and enriched myself in the same way. When I joined The Order of the Eastern Star, I again made a choice to learn more about myself and the world around me and to be a better person because of it. Its something I hope I can pass along to others and something that I hope I shall always strive to achieve, to be a better person.
