FYI, there was no "demonstration" at Chipotle's.
They came there to eat AFTER the demonstration.
How do I know? Because after I wave flags with a rifle on my back, my chapter of OCT likes to go eat together. Peacefully, minding our own business.
And sometimes we drink because we have to deal with people like you.
A play area for kids? Wow, we go above and beyond to normalize drinking in our Missoula culture, but we sure don't have a clue why our children are drinking (leading to many other issues) at a rate higher than the national average...... Here is a good article to start with......
Another article: Montana:
> Binge drinking: 25.2% (4th highest)
> Driving after drinking alcohol: 10.6% (6th highest)
> Drank alcohol before age 13: 21.4% (12th highest)
Montana has the fourth-highest incidence of binge drinking among high schoolers and the second-highest percentage who have ever consumed alcohol. The state’s youth also rank in the top five for students having ridden with a driver who has been drinking. Montana also reports the third-highest percentage of traffic fatalities involving alcohol (almost twice the national average). The Underage Drinking Enforcement Training Center estimates that underage drinking costs the state $200 million a year. That’s more than $2,500 per youth.
Now we're going to encourage parents to bring their children along with for a beer, and then drive home with them.... I'm sorry, but in a community that has such a hard time getting messages to parents and teens about safety, not drinking and driving, etc......this just doesn't seem "community friendly" in my opinion.
Here's another great community resource: http://www.missoulaforum.org/
Considering that Texas Open Carry laws are civil war reconstruction based laws and have not been revisited in the last 140 years, it is no wonder we have strange things happening in the state since this state only allows Open Carry of Rifles, then it leave the citizens no options to exercise the 2nd amendment right in a way other than to carry a rifle.
Put it this way in Texas.
Pistols openly carried get you charged with a felony.
Rifles openly carried are fine.
It really is too bad that Texas laws do not keep up with other states. States like Oklahoma and Missouri are leaving Texas in the dust. Open Carry Laws should have passed in 2013.
I was in the event at Chili's where we were assaulted. The lady was sitting at the bar! Go figure! We were going to eat and drink (soda or tea) but she was at the bar drinking up. I pass up chipotle and chilis. Chili's don't have a grill anymore. Enjoy your gun free zone. I am not a target in a free fire zone. By the way chilis has no grills. False advertisement.
New York Animal Rights Alliance America is horrified and disgusted with Montana. Larry and Carol Shultz are committing crimes against animals that is of the utmost heinous. We dont even mind saying that THEY should be skinned after being electrocuted anally. There has never ever been a time for an uprising that has never been seen before in this country against such atrocity. We will make that happen. We will speak for the animals that you torture for your pockets because you are too stupid to make a living any other way. Brainless evil demons, Larry and Carol Schultz. And Montana for aiding and abetting, dont ever expect sympathy from ANYONE for this action. Kate Riviello 845 856 7366 nokill-newyork.org
One thing their Environmental Impact Report says will happen is that the water table at my farm at the base of the mountains will drop, how low they don't know, but their own report says it will not return to where it is now for 1,322 years. I get my water from a well. This will kill my farm. The water belongs to all of us. I have legal rights to my well water. How can they just destroy it. And so much more. The mine will dry up our creeks. It's insane.
Obviously Costello isn't aware of what will happen if these projects are approved, as there is no scientific evidence to support her outlandish claims. The "before and after" pictures on her website show the after as sage brush and surface mine haul trucks. What a joke.
You guys are uneducated, spineless, boneheads who sit in your condos and tell people how to run their lives. These bobcats aren't "wild" by any means. They were derived from wild bobcats and are now habituated, and honestly don't know any different. If you were to release these farmed cats into the wild, they wouldn't make it. Leave this guy alone and let him work. Fur farming has been going on for centuries, and these animals are the most cared for out of most livestock. The fur industry is a billion dollar industry for the U.S., and for a lot of people a livelihood, mind you own business you capitalist hating marxists. This lady from missoula doesn't know her ass from a hole in the ground. She says she knows what goes on at fur farms, yeah right, she has never worked on one.
Cool robots, I have a robot at home, not only that but its a cleaning robot :D I saw it at youtube.com/watch?v=hINUnI8SfuA&list=PLisHNtIdgWds2mUtqvLi6xWTYxe8qRul1, and it blew my mind , that little thing cleaned twice more than what my vacuum could clean, plus that it cleans 99% of the fur that falls from my cat , btw she loves to ride on top of it for some reason I die laughing every time I see it . xD
Wow, years ago I would have done this. Whats age does to a person. Thanks for sharing
H20 - a dwindling resource about to get very expensive
As one member of the Missoula Organization of Realtors, and a real estate broker, I disagree wholeheartedly with the MOR stance. I am all for the municipalization of our water. The mere fact that an investment group, would be so bold as to, assume control of our drinking water, appalls me. And the fact that a real estate group, who's almost sole purpose is to promote home ownership, would be stumping for rental terms for our drinking water, also surprised me. Both are upsetting. When something seems so wrong, it usually is. I am sure most people just don't know how to stop a moving train by themselves. Speak up!
It is a a fact: 86% of all water systems are owned by their municipalities. Leaving a very vulnerable 14% to be scooped up and ripped off by investor groups, such as Carlyle.
When did it become fashionable to risk all of our well being, to let an investor group make more money? Give me a break! Does anyone remember what happened to the real estate market when investor groups ran the mortgage business?? HELLO...
In 2011, Citigroup economist Willem Buiter predicted that "water as an asset class will, in my view, become eventually the single most important physical-commodity based asset class, dwarfing oil, copper, agricultural commodities and precious metals."[
Asset class, my A__! These investors are not civic minded folks with a public cause, they are leeches, opportunistic brats and bullies, who want us to drink, bathe and wash our dishes in bottled water, very expensive water, that is. Every investor company I have read about, that has bought a public water system, has raised their prices and left the infrastructure worsen. I have yet to read anything from a town that said, yeah, they bought our water, its so much better now. If they do, I can almost guarantee, it will be short lived.
I think we should encourage the Mayor, John Engen. And, hold the Public Service Commission's feet to the fire for allowing the first sale to go through from Mountain Water to Carlyle. Now, another sale, one from Carlyle to a Canadian company is in the works. I can only assume their will be a long line of them coming down the pike too. Just like bad mortgages were bought and sold and resold and resold, until, there was a collapse of our economy. Only, with a water system, we will all just not have water. So, if you can live without it, do nothing. If you want to keep drinking it, speak up, conserve, get mad, and do everything you can to protect our water.
Thank you Ted for the write up, we appreciate the recognition for our venue. I wanted to remind people that The Real Lounge is a work in progress and everyone can witness it grow and transform. I would like to let everyone know that the Hell Gate Elks Lodge is anything but a private club of white males. In fact we are all inclusive and have a diverse membership including females. Another thing I would like to clarify for the community; we are a community center and local music center, but more importantly the Hell Gate Elks Lodge #383 is a benevolent organization that gave nearly $45,000 back to the Missoula community last year and over $50 million nationally. Actually, the only reason our venues and our 18 apartments exist are to fund our charitable giving. So next time you are wondering what to do, think of us and be a contributor while having fun!

Common source of energy in northwest is hydroelectric not coal fired and zero emissions from mine. My 40000 dollar ev probably cost less than most of the 3/4 ton pickups driving the highways of montana at 60-75 mph burning gas at what....15 mpg if lucky!,,,
Grace: Nothing wrong with that. Any candidate who is not staunchly 2A does not deserve to be elected.
And "staunchly 2A" doesn't mean Barry Soetoro doing a shotgun selfie.
What's wrong with being recognized as a national expert of any subject? In Gary's case it happens for be firearms law. What I find disturbing is that Dudik doesn't even live in the district. How can you truly represent those who live in the district like myself when you don't live there, that's like having a sheriff from Ravalli County! Oh wait, it looks like we will.
I have received several mailers from Gary Marbut, and what I find most interesting is how, in these mailers, he appears to downplay his Shooting Sports association and gun-orientation in general. Maybe he assumes everyone already knows, because he is called up for quotes every time there is a gun-related legal issue in the press.
The college decided that she was wrong, the charter remains as it is. But now according to her newest rant, the college is "oppressing" women and apparently she knows this as she said.... Because she also has a vagina. I wish we could all be a miss Montana. NOT
I recently read a story about this case and to say the least I am taken aback by the story. The article was written by the daughter of Frank Dryman. The daughter pleads for mercy and argues that her father is a feeble old man and should not be in prison. She goes on to argue that her father was just a boy who made a mistake when he was a teenager. She has made the claim that the victim put his hands between Drymans Legs and Dryman shot him in self defense. I disagree! There has never been an ounce of evidence presented that would confirm such a horrendous story and almost certainly this story was made up to garner sympathy for Dryman and to redirect the focus from Dryman and his heinous deed. One thing the daughter of this dispicable man needs to learn and understand is that her father had the good fortune to grow old and feeble. He had the opportunity to lead a long and fruitful life. She had the good fortune of having been brought into this world by Dryman and her daughter has had the opportunity to know their grandfather. These are all things that the Pellet family never had the opportunity to enjoy because of the actions of this man. Shame on her for even floating such a story! Frank dryman is in prison because he showed a total lack of empathy and respect for human life. Like a coward he ran from the responsibility that he alone shouldered for murdering a human being. He tried to compensate for his heinous deed by becoming a so called pillar of his community but that pillar was nothing more than false front. I often wonder what other crimes this man committed in his 40 years on the run and do realize we will probably never know the whole truth!
I watched her daily video blog of the actual process of government at the State legislative level. She is smart, and speaks frankly. I have no problem with that. She is the model of all to be elected from this point on. The people we have been sending put us in this mess and have no intention of fixing the problems. I hope some elitist schmuck tries to tell her "that's not how we do it here". This will be interesting. Daines can go suck eggs. No debate means no respect. If he can't respect an opponent what makes you think he respects the average Montanan.
