Re: “John Hoyt's name removed from Wash-Griz Stadium

I hear that when you give a million dollars for the field field to be named in memory of a life long donor, you should be pacified with 9" x 12" plaque and hung on some obscure wall. Until the foundation thinks it can sell that wall space... or Denny Washington has another bout of insecurity and demands it be taken down.

Re: “John Hoyt's name removed from Wash-Griz Stadium

Enrollment numbers prove that parents aren't willing to trust the University of Montana with their youths nor their monies.

If a million dollars can't buy you a few gallons of paint and recognition for 50 years of support and numerous other large dollar donations, a $100,000 certainly won't buy an education.

Given any opportunity they'll sell your student out, just like they did the memory of John Hoyt.

Maybe a refund is in order to Cliff Edwards who thought enough of his friend to anonymously give a million dollars so that John would be remembered... the check's cashed, the foundation has forgot.

Re: “Sheriff's office investigating fraudulent county commission letter pulling support for refugees

WOW! After almost a year, another comment? With a link to a well written commentary from 2015? As far as wearing a T-shirt with a Mohammad cartoon printed on it in Missoula now, in 2107, still no fear. Being openly gay? Same. A woman walking around in "provocative" clothing? Same. But keep an eye out for subtle changes. Like this recent announcement the the media isn't "announcing". NOTE AS OF 8:06 am 3/16 KGVO only source of story, printed, never announced on air.

Montana Elena for Liberty & Open Government Could it be that now Missoula and the UM have become more "diversified", an Easter event may be disturbing to people of another cultural flavor?

Easter 'Eggstravaganza' Not to be Held on UM Campus This Year…

Easter Eggstravaganza - University Relations - University Of Montana…

Easter Eggstravaganza

The University of Montanas flagship campus in Missoula produces an educated, aware and trained citizenry for the state of Montana and beyond. In addition to educational and research endeavors, UM is an integral component of the Missoula community, providing a gathering space for all Missoulians.
The 2016 Easter Eggstravaganza is set for 1 p.m. Saturday, March 26, 2016, on the UM Oval.

I have the same question Montana Elena has.

I'll add one more: So what ever happened with the investigation of the "fake letter", the subject of this Indy article ?

Would you wear a T-shirt with a Mohammad cartoon printed on it?

Re: “Vintage bikes to be exhibited as First Friday art show

Wasn't "Bike-centennial", headquartered in Missoula ?

Bike-centennial was a company or non-profit organization that promoted cross country bicycling , beginning, I believe in 1976 - the bi-centennial of the U.S. The designated, recommended, or most-promoted route began in Astoria, Oregon, went through Missoula, over Lost Trail, into the Big Hole, through Dillon, and on east, ending, I believe in either NYC or Washington, D.C.

Re: “Ryan Zinke confirmed as Secretary of the Interior

It is a wonder how Senator Thomas could think of anything other in his political career than how he carried, supported and argued for Montana Power's demise in the 90's. Every Montana electrical user pays much higher rates now and forever because of this blunder!

Re: “Sportsmen seek definitive answer on corner-crossing

I have tried to find some answers for three years . Where I've hunted for lots of years is closed now because the rancher has taken it out of block management. No body I talked to seems to know the law except you can't do it . I'm just about going to just cross and find out what the law is . I have lost a lot of hunting because of this but the rancher has gained thousands of acres. We all pay for this land and the ranchrest are the only ones that get to use it
