Thank you so much! Van Loc is now closed and I dearly miss the Tofu Clay Pot. I didn't think I'd actually find a recipe when I googled this! So excited to try it.
Stick to topics you know something about.
For one, AR does NOT stand for "assault rifle." It's shorthand for "Armalite" -- which is the firm Eugene Stoner designed the basic AR-15/M16/M whatever direct gas actuated platform upon which so many millions of rifles have been built around.
Second, apparently you were asleep from mid-December of last year until now, paying utterly no attention to the gun-control debate in Congress. What was targeted? Certain calibers with military histories, which disappeared from the shelves within 10 days after Dianne Feinstein opened her mouth, which in turn was about ten seconds after the last shot was fired at Newtown.
The shortage of those calibers was so bad and so long, demand shifted to any and all other calibers, especially in popular models like 270, which is like the fifth most common loading offered.
As for production, the lines can only be run 24/7 with down time for maintenance. And nobody is going to buy more specialized line equipment than they think they can make pay for itself in the long run.
Bottom line, if you are so desperate, find three boxes of ammo between 243 and 30-06 and buy a rifle in that caliber. Next year you might have better luck.
You can't braid hardneck.
we moved and we were pulling weeds well i thought they were weeds turned out it was garlic. we pulled what was showing and i noticed last week (week of jan 1st)there is already bout inch or two of green. not sure what kind of garlic it is. my question is when can we pull it? how long do we let it dry before eating or is it even good to eat?
I love this - sounds like a great model! I'd love to know more about the specific gardens, especially where in the Horn they're located.
A small critique - pork is haram in Islam (the religion of almost all Somalis), and so they're probably not going to be trying any prosciutto.
Yup. I use olive oil for the major of my food oil needs.
This is great stuff Ari! I've been using bacon grease for cooking for years, but have never tried whiskey. I often use olive oil with bacon to reduce the triglycerites (or whatever they're called). I only wish I had the discipline to use whiskey for cooking. Rescuing bacon grease from the garbage is one thing, depriving my mouth of whiskey is a different world altogether.
You don't really need to break down the head into individual cloves; you can squeeze them out entire. -- Christian Gehman
@winagainstoddseditor: which side of the world are you on?
@Asuperstar:You can grow garlic there but I don't think it will be as good.
How will this work in a non freezing zone? I am in Southern California. We planted garlic every year in Kalispell and always had a great crop.
Just as the spinning wheel became Gandhi's symbol of resistance to corporate colonial rule in India, I would suggest the hoe as a good symbol of our resistance to corporate/government colonial rule here in Amerika. 'Victory' gardens are now morphed into 'freedom' gardens. If you can feed yourself without corporate inputs you can resist the ultimate shackle and soften the shock of food distribution breakdown that seems to be the weak link in our centralized economy. Spuds are the embodiment of democratic power. You can live on them (see Tibet and Peru). They are very low tech and user friendly. A stick is the only tool you need. You don't need good soil; some Irish simply grew spuds in seaweed layed on bare rock. Straw on most any ground will work. Spuds are easily stored til next growing season. Whoda guessed the humble spud could break the back of the corporate fascist juggernaut that is rolling over us. ;)

You had me fooled with your title but it got me reading :)
As much as I love garlic, I should have a garden full of it and thanks to you, I'll be doing that this summer(yes, we're going into summer on my side of the world). I use garlic for my hair as an intensive conditioner in combination with other organic oils-it great for shedding, I take it when I feel like I'm getting a cold or feeling 'fluey' and of course to cook!
I made this salsa and its good, really good! I noticed the basic recipe does not list vinegar or lemon juice is this an error or is the vinegar sort of unnecesary, kind of like boiling the jars for twenty minutes after hotpacking? Also I wanted to mention something an old russian woman told me about canning, she said put your jars in the oven then turn to 200 degrees and leave them until ready to use. This has saved me so much water and energy/time. This is probably common knowledge but it wasn't to me.
Just a quick correction, the name of the molecule responsible for pepper heat is not capsicum but capsaicin. Capsicum is the genus of the chili plant.
Everyone here at Missoula Family Chiropractic loves this article. We preach this daily to our patients and to have it in the news telling them is another great reminder. We are super pumped to have someone else out there that gets it and is writing about it. Thank you!

In fact, please delete that last sentence/remark. It is not in my nature to be negative as a rule. What I did mean to say came before it and was adequate.
Well I do believe I do know a thing or two about how people are towards others(people and creatures) on this planet from long experience. And until everyone is able to agree on actions that benefit the earth, people and creatures on it - I guess alot of people will be wearing blinders as a matter of routine. But you are incorrect in saying that I one of them. Now isn't that much nicer than my asking which organ you donated - perhaps the one containing your "grey cells"?
You think nothing died for you're store-bought garlic? Well, enjoy the view with your head in the sand.
