Re: “Engen's return

I briefly lived in "rape Nation" Missoula Montana and I have to say I have4 never lived in such a morally corrupt, misogynist, racist city. I have lived all over the world. No surprise the city is liberal/democrat. The University of Montana is another embarrassment to the State Of Montana, Academia and living the ethical life.

You have a liberal City with an epidemic of rape, drunk driving, pandering to the "Holy" mediocre untalented football players that this tiny city puts on the field every fall. A City which has one of the largest Rape Crisis Centers and spousal abuse centers and yet it is a tiny town. What a shock that a liberal city would support the enabling wife of a serial rapist Hillary Clinton. The city and University both who are led by Egomaniacal liberals.

This is a city where they are in denial about the serious problems of alcoholism, meth, suicide, misogyny and Bigotry. While Missoula puts on this faade of being a caring city that embraces all cultures. The facts tell the opposite, It is a city that lacks Blacks and Hispanics in top position in Business. It is a city that allows a driver to plow down High School girls. He served less than a year and a few months . Two of the girls Ashley Patenaude, 14, and 15-year-old Taylor Cearley died instantly and two others were hospitalized with injuries. Teal Packard, 14, is recovering at St. Patrick Hospital. The fourth girls name was not released, although she has been released from the hospital.

All Missoula Liberals give Victims is symbolism over substance Vigils. while David James DelSignore the man who was 29 when he plowed down these two girls is again on the street. Missoula is a city that must have alcohol at every event. I remember taking my one year old to a kids event downtown and alcohol was served at the event in the park. You have a city council member who just a few years ago was cited for a DUI. The City Council member denied she was drunk. Denial is a part of the M.O. for Missoulians who seem to be looking at life through rose colored glasses.

Chase Callen, a candidate in Ward 5,(sounds like he could be a drinking buddy of Bill Clinton) was charged with felony burglary in Missoula on Aug. 27, 2012, and pleaded not guilty two days later. (what a shock) (All women who accuse men in Missoula of violence, rape, sexual abuse, must be lying)
Arresting documents alleged he kicked in a screen on the third floor of a sorority house near the University of Montana campus at 3:30 a.m. on a Sunday morning. Also, In January 2011, Callen was also arrested for DUI "per se. Proving a DUI per se in Montana doesn't require proof of impairment, only that an individuals blood alcohol level was 0.08 or greater at the time of driving.

Missoula law enforcement has had to deal with a number of high-speed chases recently, each of which involved a number of felony charges. Missoula County Deputy Attorney Jason Marks says that it appears meth use may be a common theme.

I left Missoula with my family because I did not want to raise my son in a city that allowed crime to go unchecked and a City that put College Football players before the safety of women. I at a previous time in my life won awards as a director for my anti drug and rape awareness public service announcements. I sent presentation to the University of Montana and others ports teams urging them to Run Rape Awarene
ss PSA'S at all sports events in Missoula. This obviously did not go over well. The University actually told me. "We do not have a problem with sexual assault" Along with not having a drug epidemic, a homeless epidemic, a serious problem with misogyny and sexual abuse?

The City of Missoula, Montana, The powers that be in Government, Media, Sports, Academia
have been spinning so long that the city must be too dizzy to grasp the truth.

Re: “Engen's return

What is going on with this guy? (He's our own Zootown version of Rob Ford, without the cocaine.) So much for transparency in government! And what's up with The Missoulian disabling its comments section on the relevant article on him in yesterday's paper? (Nice move guys. Don't you wish you had someone as "in the bag" for you as these guys were for him yesterday?) Precipitating event? Was it domestic? Was there and/or some other incident at the airport? Also, did the drinking effect this whole spiraling downward situation with the water company? (Mark my words, citizens of Missoula, we're going to be paying long and hard, and "through the nose" for a lifetime--through our rates and paying back bonded indebtedness for this personal Tinkertoy/obsession!) The spending, even so far, on this is like that of a drunken sailor! And, lastly, does he have no shame, already lining up his 2017 mayoral run? (Is there truly "something in the water" on this point? Talk about pol blood running through your veins.) From what I've seen, half of Missoula has already forgiven this guy--without all the facts. Be compassionate folks, but, as they say folks, don't be chumps! What a town!

Re: “Engen's return

It's apparent that the position of mayor is too overwhelming for Engen. First he can't stop a food addiction. Corrects it after tax $$$$ cover his operation. Now for alcohol abuse. Also complements from tax $$$$$. What will be his next psychological demon? For his own health, those who love him and the Missoulians who he claims he loves and is dedicated to, he should resign.

Re: “Engen's return

Who can or will run against Engen in 2017?

I know Harlan Wells has mentioned he might. I can see David "Doc" Moore mounting a challenge, perhaps Champ Edmunds, Susan Cundiff, Bill Murray, and...anyone else?

That's the GOP side. For the Dems, we know Engen needs a primary challenger so he can raise more money in the election cycle. Who might that be, and will they be a serious challenger or a paper tiger?

I hope we can start talking about this more. The city is the most taxed in Montana and we're trying to get a local option sales tax too. Jobs aren't paying that much and it's been that way for years.

I feel it's time for new leadership...but who?

Re: “Engen's return

John Engen is a very brave man in a public arena. I too I am a recovering alcoholic....27 yrs. It is a beast that lives with you everyday, because the drink is only as far away as the end of your arm....It is not an easy thing to say you have a problem then go to treatment, even if you have no public exposure. It is still very difficult to face the questions that you have to face and be honest about it.
I wish Our Mayor the Best in his Journey......I know he can do it.

Re: “Troopers to the front

"And I am 1/4 Native myself, so don't call me racist for my on-site observations." Sorry you are DEFINITELY a racist! And ignorant. I guess the two go hand in hand.

Re: “Troopers to the front

This isn't about fear of oil spills, if it were they would rather have the oil transported by this new, high tech pipeline rather that by Warren Buffets railroad or via tanker trucks. The odds of a disaster happening are many times higher by rail or truck transport. And I bet my bottom dollar that at least 80% of the NATIVES protesting have no job and probably never had one in their life, and that those same 80% suck off the government (taxpayers). What can you do when you don't work, suck off the government and are bored?? You go protest, smoke weed, get drunk and on and on. And I am 1/4 Native myself, so don't call me racist for my on-site observations.

Re: “Troopers to the front

Since when is a peaceful protest an "unlawful gathering"? ("The troopers made direct contact with demonstrators once: to arrest four people who 'would not disperse an unlawful gathering'")
And the gang of hired thugs ("security guards") that sicked their dogs on the water protectors back on September 3rd, as reported by Amy Goodman on Democracy Now!, and quickly went viral, were a "lawful" gathering ?? Gimme break !

Re: “Etc.

The Democrats entrenched with union powers to boot just cannot avoid the corruption so rampant in the colossal self protecting system so cozy to members of this class of high rollers. I'm a disabled veteran still not wanting to join in the feast off taxpayer blood.

Re: “Etc.

Had the Dems ran a better candidate maybe they could have won, but instead they gave us the most corrupt, deceitful, lying candidate in history - Hillary. I just couldn't bring myself to vote for another crap sandwich.

Re: “Etc.

Let's hope that the national dimacrap establishment learned something from this fiasco : to remember that the the blue collar workers were, and should still be, the bedrock foundation of the party, and can be ignored only at the party's peril.

Re: “Etc.

Do we really think North Dakota Indians are more important than oil? I'm surprised the corporate media is even paying attention to the Standing Rock protests at all.

Re: “Housing

Do NOT trust them! They bought my forclosed home in July of 2015 and said to us "We want you to stay in your home" and in February of 2016 they called us and said "We want to make a profit off your home, (the home my parents built to raise me in) so please be out in 30 days." They are lying leeches and that is all they will ever be.

Don't vote for Zinke. Vote for Denise Juneau.
Zinke's wife's comment makes me ill. Ryan is for sale and wants a cabinet position with Trump.
