Some thoughts on the matter from MicroShiner.com
So this law would also ban those petition gatherers and protest groups as well, because they can be aggressive as well and block the sidewalks. But what we are really doing is pushing the problem to other parts of the city, if there is a problem. And why are the current laws on the books ineffective on many of these issues? Nobody has answered that yet. Of course the police would love to have more people downtown to up their DUI budget.
Me like. Thank you and Merry Christmas.
Let's be real, people are going to drink. They drink in good times and in bad. They drink a little and they might find themselves drinking too much. Whatever the case, as a community, let's give people options to get home safe. There have been too many impaired driving accidents that affect this community greatly. Right now there are very few.
Why doesn't The Missoula County DUI Task Force take some action and help to restart this under new leadership. Monetary assistance from grants, city funds, county funds from the bankrolling on DUI's?
A question and a charge to The Missoula County DUI Task Force: What is more important: 1. Bankrolling on DUI's? 2. Getting people home safe and keeping impaired drivers off the road?
Is the City Council planning on opening another homeless shelter, or contributing funds to the much-needed expansion of the Poverello Center? If homeless folks had a place to go, with food, shelter, and medical/social services available, perhaps they would not feel the need to panhandle. Seems like this does nothing to confront the actual problem at hand.
Beautifully written Jayme. Judy B. and all of us that know you are smiling I am quite sure. The holiday is pesky and complicated for most of us and it is true death fractures families like little else. Forging a new normal is the challenge.
That’s funny sam. We will see, wont we?
What makes you think this has ANYTHING to do with the Aff. Healthcare Act? If anything, the insurance it provides may make more healthcare jobs starting Jan. 1.
What did you think was going to happen? Every republican within our government was screaming this sort of thing was going to happen when the Affordable Healthcare Act went into effect. More jobs are going to be lost as this monster starts its run up.
Where are all the supporters of the Affordable Healthcare Act who used to call Republicans stupid and make all those comments about how they were devils and trying to keep healthcare away from the people? Where are you now?
Where have you been when all those families healthcare insurance have went up?
I hope all Montanans realize this is the gift the Democrats have given you. This is their big plan and all Democrats own this mess and the damage it’s done and going to do. I hope the pain that these hospital workers are feeling hit all of you in the brain box during the elections.
Thanks for the heads up. We've added Conservation Media to the two courtesy photo credits.
The Sage Grouse Initiative appreciates the efforts of Jimmy Tobias to get this story right--traveling all the way out to see the Lehfeldts firsthand putting SGI practices on their land, following sage grouse, interviewing Dr Dave Naugle of UM, and giving this important story its due. Our SGI photo library offers great photos for newspapers to use, but we do request that photo credits are applied. We appreciate the photography and videos of Conservation Media tremendously and hope that the Independent will run a small photo of the cover in next issue and direct people to Conservation Media's website, and on the Online version make the correction immediately---www.conservationmedia.com. Jeremy Roberts is the photographer and owner of Conservation Media. Please check out his wonderful videos on our website too: www.sagegrouseinitiative.com
