Re: “With LaLonde Ranch talks stalled, Freedom Gardens looks for a new place to put down roots

Whoa! Pretty judgemental Contrary- hit and run. Missoulian's are listening, be productive in your comments, share your concerns. Grassroots grow when they include all elements- earth, wind, water and fire, but they don't benefit from scorching, flooding, gossip or rock.

Re: “Republican legislator looks to take syringe exchange out of legal limbo

A bill to help addicts, not punish them -- sponsored by a repuglikcan, no less ! It's nice to know that all repugs aren't bat-shit crazy, in the Art Wittich mold.

Re: “Exposing secret stashes: A new backcountry guidebook aims to preserve access

Yet more disturbance and harassment of mountain goats, lynx, wolverines, picas hibernating grizzlies and other critters that depend on isolation, tough terrain and deep snows for their very existence. As if snowmobiles, aircraft, and global warming, etc. wasn't enough.

Re: “A union-led coalition wants to turn the Riverfront Triangle into a rallying point for affordability. Is anyone listening?

Every time I read an article/commentary mentioning Missoula high rents, low wages, I have to wonder. Why, with these two negatives, the International Rescue Committee (IRC) felt Missoula was a perfect "welcoming city" for resettled refugees? Which the Missoula City Council also embraced. Cheap labor? Slave labor? Especially for the new hotels planned for Missoula?

Re: “At UM, an unusual peek into Stearns' cabinet

The real problem, of course, is the Commissioner of Higher Education. You'll get a good look at his disastrous tenure - and our three interim leaders at UM - in this Helena blog post:

http://www.logicosity.com/2017/02/color-th…

Please don't forget that the Commissioner has no MA and certainly no PhD. Let's not forget that Angela McLean signed-off on allowing such an unqualified individual to assume that position, either.

Re: “What lies beneath? City declines to release its Mountain Water legal bills.

This'll cost us a quarter of a billion dollars when it's all said and done.

Re: “At UM, an unusual peek into Stearns' cabinet

Considering the decline of the university over the past 5 years, perhaps those attendees shouldn't be making a combined $2 million in salary anymore.

"... one of the most progressive city councils in memory ..."

They are progressive when it's time to take an easy, symbolic vote on something of little import. But when the rubber hits the road, and piles of public money are subsidizing private developers, they don't have the guts to stick with working people and taxpayers.

So, can we please stop calling them progressive?
