Re: “Blodgett Mountain

Highly recommend visiting Blodgett Mountain. There's a famous paleontologist related to Joseph Blodgett.

Re: “Hieronymus Park

great park, some good fishing and lots of trails to explore! Only bummer is dogs need to be on a leash at all times, and no bathrooms but Dariy Queen is a short walk away!

Re: “Goldbug Hot Springs

Gold bug IS the gem of the northwest! I've hiked goldbug in September2013, February2014 & June2014. I've done think hike in all weather. It's so much fun! This hike has some easy points & some tough points. Of course the view from the top is the SPECTACULAR!!! Such an experience!

Re: “Logging Creek Campground

one of our favorite campsites in glacier. some of the sites are on the creek. very quiet. no water, but trash service and a bear box if you need it.

Re: “Big Sky Resort

Please don't hate me for noting that I skied creamy, thigh deep powder in Liberty Bowl today. Soooo nice.

Re: “Sluice Boxes State Park

The sluice boxes are a very unique and stunningly beautiful 4 mile stretch of Belt creek. They start at the Logging creek bridge and continue for about 4 miles to the bridge at the base of Riceville Hill. There is a fairly decent trail the entire length but several (and very likely deep) creek crossings are necessary. Trout fishing all through here is excellent due to an abundance of nice deep holes. When I was a teenager my friends and I would wear boots (to push off of the rocks) and scuba masks (to look at fish) and body float the entire length. There is a very deep hole at a 90 degree bend that has a nice series of rock ledges for jumping (or backflipping) from. The scenery outside of the creek is amazing as well. The vertical rock faces on either side of the creek zig-zag the entire 4 miles similar to a maze. There are some railroad remnants that are best avoided though. All in all I think this short strech of Montana is one of the coolest.

Re: “Lolo Pass

This is a great place to bring the family for a day of sledding on the hill behind the main cabin. Also the cabin is full of goodies like hot chocolate or coffee after a long day xcountry skiing, snowmobiling, or sledding.

Re: “First Peoples Buffalo Jump State Park

This place has been greatly improved and a visitors center has been added at the base of the buffalo jump. The trail is fun to walk. Lots of wildlife in the spring...just watch out for the baby rattlers!

Re: “Sprague Creek Campground

this is a great spot if you get on of the lake sites, otherwise you get to camp on the road with all of its traffic or inbetween the road and lake where all of the sites are very close to each other. we will not go back there

Re: “Goldbug Hot Springs

Currently there is a NO CAMPING policy within 500 ft. of the hot springs. Sadly, people keep ignoring this -- which means their pee, poop, and toilet paper stays right there. PLEASE DON'T CAMP THERE.

Re: “Lolo Pass

Great spring skiing on March 16. Even though a lot of snow has melted in the last week or so, it was still as deep as I've ever seen it up there. South faces skied well in the morning, and northern aspects softened up nicely after lunch.

Re: “Council Grove State Park

Lot's of blue-winged olives out around mid-day. Plenty of trout rising in the slough downstream of the parking lot. Lovely fall colors right now, too. We saw four other anglers and what appeared to be a guided boat anchored up in the eddy at the bottom of the slough. Fish were still working when we left around 5:00.

Pretty much snow free as of Memorial Day weekend. Just a few minor patches near the summit.
