Re: “Lake Como

SNOW REPORT FOR SUNDAY, MARCH 31ST:
Observations according to Como Trails Club.

"[Groomers] rolled Wolf Track, Shannon Gulch, Uf-Da, middle road and Upper road last night. Middle road is good everywhere except the south facing hillside going down into the Waddell drainage, (before "Chute" trail). You will have to take off your skis for several bare spots. Just a couple of thin spots past that, watch for random rocks. Upper road is in steller condition, worth skiing all day up there! Uf-Da is best skied uphill, not recomended to go down it. Wolf Track and Shannon gulch are well covered with just a couple of rough spots at the ditch and 550rd intersection. Parking is at the wide spot on 550A just before the base of Wolf Track.

"This will probably be the last of the good skiing for the season, warmer temps and rain predicted later this week."

SNOW REPORT FOR SUNDAY, MARCH 31ST:
Observations according to Seeley Lake Nordic Skiing:

Groomers scratched up the ice again this morning, but it's getting harder. So this is it. No more grooming this season. Not sure how long the road will be ski-able. Last groomed on Sunday/Monday of last week.

SNOW REPORT FOR SUNDAY, MARCH 24th:
Observations according to Seeley Lake Nordic Skiing.

Skiing yesterday was great and grooming will be touched up today. Taking jct. 4 and turn left at Hawkwood and ski over to the 10K and around Moose Meadows for the freshest grooming. Skiing at Seeley is the best it's been this season. Seven to eight inches fell in the last week.

Re: “Lake Como

SNOW REPORT FOR SUNDAY, MARCH 24th:
Observations from Como Trails Club.

"It snowed all week up there...Might bring the rollers up and pack everything down again tonight.

"Only access to upper trails is through Wolf Track trail off of the 550A rd. You can almost drive to the bottom of it now. The snow is good up wolf through Shannon Gulch up to the upper road. Its an 11 mile tour to go all the way to Tin Cup overlook and back.

"550 road is closed, no base under the new snow, only rocks and dirt!

"The skiing should be good for another week up there, [the] grooming contract is over on the 31st... The sign-in sheets show that there were over 600+ skiers and 500+ dogs since Jan. 5th."

Re: “Lake Como

SNOW REPORT FOR SUNDAY, MARCH 17TH:
Observations from Como Trails Club.

"Well its almost gone! All access to upper roads is by going up Wolf track trail. You can drive right to the base of it now, good snow all the way up yesterday. Upper road and the first part of middle are still very skiable.

550 road and 550A road have completely melted out, nothing left of 550A and long patches of gravel on 550.

I plan on dragging Upper road, Shannon and Wolf Track Sunday morning [today] for one more skate party! then the last of the equipment comes down and we are done for the year!"

Re: “Lake Como

SNOW REPORT FOR SUNDAY, MARCH 10TH:
Observations from Missoula Nordic Ski Club.

"Spring conditions, frozen hard surface in the morning, soft and slushy mid afternoon! We dragged all of the trails except the middle of 550Ard. Its melted out to dirt in several spots. 550 road is still hanging on but a couple more days of bright sun and possible rain later this week could be the end of it. Upper and middle roads are still in good shape, one thin area on middle rd going down to chute. the sun might burn it through in the next day or so. Shannon Gulch trails are still holding snow well, one bare spot on the east end of the ditch trail. We will start using Wolf track trail as our way to get to the upper trail when 550 melts out.

This could be the last weekend that we can keep the lower trails groomed, We will try to keep the upper area groomed as long as possible. The road up to the parking areas is icy and rutted use caution going up."

Re: “Lake Como

SNOW REPORT FOR SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 24TH:
Observations according to Missoula Nordic Ski Club.

"Saturday grooming report: 6"-9" of new snow since 10:00 last night. We spent the entire day re-rolling everything! Re-set the tracks on 550rd., middle road and upper road. Good coverage everywhere! Will need a little more snow to be able to re-set tracks on 550A rd. It might snow 1"-2" tonight.

"p.s. there are no trappers working in the area at this time, trapping season is over in 5 days. However there are wolves, lions, moose, elk, deer and other skiers out there, so its still wise to pay attention to what your dog's up to."

SNOW REPORT FOR SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 24TH:
Seeley Lake XC area got about 3" to 4" of new snow for Friday so groomers were able to groom almost all of the trails with perfect cordroy. Re: “Lake Como

SNOW REPORT FOR SUNDAY, FEBRUARY 17TH:
Observations according to Missoula Nordic.

"Very good skate skiing Saturday afternoon. Upper trails have an excellently firm track and no icy spots. Groomers took drags on all the roads yesterday. 550A road is getting thin, ski it while it lasts.Several areas have melted out across the road, will need to remove your skis in one spot. watch for caution signs. Besides those couple of areas it is still good skiing.

"550 rd. is firm at the bottom but gets much better as you head up, just a bit thin up on the sunny hillside in spots.Tracks were re-set but are not very deep, almost too hard underneath to get much depth."

Currently snowing and 37 degrees, with winds blowing at 11 mph. Winds may gust up to 20mpr later in the day. Additional snow accumulation of less than half an inch possible.

Re: “Holloway Lake

Miraculously, you can walk all 7.2 miles to Holloway Lake without needing to step across a single fallen log in the trail—at least for the moment. Perfect conditions as of Aug. 14. And I had the lake completely to myself at midday, on a Sunday no less.
