They are not cleaning a pheasent - that's a sharptail or hun. Pheasent season opens in Montana on 10/12. Does not say much about your "hunter" author.
Oh yeah, push em to the west side. They won't walk to downtown. You people are so stupid.
great story. thats why i cant wait to get some free time and devour the latest Independent every week.
Hmmmmm. Sounds like you might be a bit jealous of women who are a bit different then you. We did not judge you at all. Best of luck in your "professional" endeavors.
Hopefully, when the Poverello Center and the Union Gospel Mission in 2014 have moved housing and other services for homeless, adult men to West Broadway, the problems associated as described in this article will be restricted to this already poor, struggling Westside neighborhood and far away from the Downtown law and government offices, parks, restaurants, art boutiques and residents. If the problems associated with some homeless men can be restricted to one neighborhood and kept out of sight from wealthier Missoula residents and tourists, is it really a problem anymore?
How about this...
just like every other city in America,
MAKE PANHANDLING ILLEGAL AND PUBLIC INTOXICATION ILLEGAL AND TAKE THEM TO......WAIT FOR IT.......JAIL!!!
I'm from new Orleans.
That's what they do there.
Alcohol, prescription drugs, illegal drugs, texting, cell phones, eating food, reaching for something, sleeping, confusion, blown tires, ice. All these things cause death and injury on our roads. You can pass all the laws you want, but education and people learning to care, is the only real cure that might slow down the carnage.
There doesn't seem to be an easy solution to this, as evidenced by the statement that the commissions have been looking into this since 2007 (and probably earlier). It's easy to say perhaps something should be done about the HOMELESSNESS itself - people not having any place to be. Are more shelters or halfway house-type facilities needed? But, of course, that costs money people/towns don't have right now, and then there's the issue of where to put more shelters.
And this is exactly why the residents of the Westside neighborhood did not want The Pov and Missoula 3:16/The Union Gospel Mission moved to W. Broadway....
Neither measuring standard is "way off" because the 150 ng/ml is for an assay of urine while the 5 ng/ml is active ∆9-THC in the blood.
"For me, the killing part is the tiniest part," Noel says.
How very nice. It's all about Noel! For the animal, the killing is everything.
"Even if you don't want to shoot something you can enjoy the outdoors aspect of hunting."
Yes, it's called camping.
Apparently for these hunter gals, compassion is not in fashion.
Good luck Andy! It seems incredible something like this could happen but we
are dealing with ideologues whose near religious fervor knows no bounds.
Hope it all works out for you. Will come by for a visit next Summer
when we are in Missoula.......Chris Buzan
Just another disgusting "hunting" campaign in Montana! Next they will be educated on trapping...woohoo what fun!!!
i cant wait until cops are just allowed to kill the homeless, or when they sit outside we can just fine them or throw them in jail because they cn't pay it a+!!!!!
I see it going down like this.
Officer: I have been trying to get you pulled over for miles.
Stoner: Sorry I had my nose against the windshield could not see the mirrors.
Officer: You were going a little too slow for the interstate traffic, you stoned?
Stoner: I could not see the speedometer I had my nose against the windshield.
Officer: You were only doing 30 mph. The drunks are doing 90, someone could get killed. It smells a little musky in here, you stoned?
Stoner: It sure seemed like I was going a lot faster. I have a great idea! Let's make that lane for drunks and this lane for druggies problem solved.
Officer: That makes sense. You must be college educated. Step out of the car please!
Funny thing, if you are into wrestling, you might know that the Olympics as well as UFC have raised their acceptable limits to 150 ng/ml- some 30 times higher than the suggested "drugged driving" limit. Now one of those limits has to be WAY off, and since second-hand exposure can result in a test result of 17 ng/ml as the case of Olympian Ross Rebagliati showed us in 1998! And a few of you may be interested in this article from TIME, "Why MEDICAL MARIJUANA Laws Reduce Traffic Deaths".
How about fining the people who give to panhandlers? If they have extra money, they can give it in the form of a fine!! Don't make it cheap either. How about a $100?
I am glad they are trying to solve problems. I am glad they are thinking ahead. There will be some side effects whatever you do but at least with the right ordinances on the books, you can enable the police to stop some behavior that is already heading for a bad outcome
soon enough google will drive your car for you, and you'll be FREE
I enioy the interesting, very Missoula and somewhat controversial subjects covered by the Independent. This issue "The Sex Issue " is no different in my public opinion. I often read the Independent on my Bus rides around town and was dis-maid to find that this issue "The SEX issue" unavailable on my bus, any other bus or at The Transfer Center down town. This is so odd, as The independent has always been available on the bus.2 copies of the weekly paper available on every bus, every week. As the drivers are required to have 2 of these papers on there bus when the bus leaves base.
I inquired and found out...The General manager at Mountain Line,(Michael Tree) deemed the issue to be "NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY", as cause for the removal of all copies.
-We could have a whole other discussion about "NOT FAMILY FRIENDLY" on our public bus's.- He directed that all of this weeks copies of " The SEX issue" to be removed Monday, via Mountain Line Managment.
I find this offensive. No public Service Representative has the right to censor my reading material or yours. He is a Public Service Representative, he is paid with our public dollars. Michael Tree has no right to impose his personal our religious views on me or you. His right wing political views from Twenty-Nine Palms California are "NOT MISSOULA FRIENDLY". Vote no on the Mountain Line Mill Levy request.
