Re: “Oscars wild

you're right, Lionel. It's the best supporting actor category where they've all won, I think I conflated the two in my head when I was writing it.

I did guess 4/5 correctly though, you will give me that.

Re: “Oscars wild

Phoenix is the only one in this category without a win under his belt."

Um what? Hugh Jackman and Bradley Cooper have not even been nominated. Bad editing, Indy.

Re: “Crazy in love

As a fan of Robert DeNiro, it's good to hear that he actually TRIES and acts in this movie, (as opposed to simply 'being there' in his last dozen + movies) but I wasn't aware of Chris Tucker's 'hair-obsessed mental patient cameo' and look forward to it. Ms. Laich summed up the movie nicely. I shall believe the hype, accordingly...

Re: “Come together

Congrats, growing up where you did, and then going into the real world, you can easily see and relate to the depths of horror, depravity, racism, ignorance is bliss that the rest of the world fears so much. Will keep my eye out for your name. Good luck

Re: “Found at sea

Once again, Molly Laich manages to make a movie review: a delight. The only question now is do I read the book or catch the flic now, in theaters?

Re: “Physical therapy

I don't usually read film reviews, but I'll read Molly's due to her delicious snippets like "The priest has a weird haircut that I theorize speaks to a growing disconnect between what the clergy does and the modern world—but I might be over-thinking the hair." Hilarious! Well-written. etc. Also, what the hell is going on with the Wilma? I thought they had new owners! Maybe put some money into a new film-player-thingy, yo!

Re: “Uneasy course

"It's possible to be both very good at your job and a hopeless alcoholic." POWERFUL Molly Laich! I love Denzel Washington. If you have not seen his brilliant portrayl of Malcolm X: do so! He's so much fun to watch. I'm glad Ms. Laich concurs.

Re: “Time bandits

This movie sounds complex and thus confusing, however, Ms Laich did an excellent job of talking it out and her enthusiasm for this film really came through. Excellent movie review. Fun and informative. Very well-written.

Re: “Married to the mob

Andy - excellent review. I saw Gomorra last night with a friend and was struck with just how powerful and gripping the realism was. Would not see this movie twice, since I certainly won't forget it! Your review help contextualize it - thanks for taking the time to write this....Marc

Re: “Oil and water

"It’s the Trout Mask Replica of Paul Thomas Anderson movies" This line is an instant classic!
