Re: “Romaines

We are in Missoula for a week for training. We randomly picked this place-and I am so sad there is not one near home (northern california). The service was great. The servers were so friendly and the owner was very nice, ensuring we enjoyed our meal. They have soup, hot sandwiches and a 'create your own salad' option. You tell the server the size of salad, and choose from a variety of greens to start, and then walk down the row choosing what to add. My friend had soup and a salad, I had salad and bread. The available ingredients were FRESH, and too many to list. There were several protein options including chicken, salmon, beef, tofu, and a variety of beans. The dressing of the day was a orange champagne vinnagrette( spelling ), and it was just a perfect mix of healthy fresh ingredients. I returned for dinner, for another amazing salad. If you try one place while you're in Missoula-this is a must try. We really really liked it!!

Re: “Lubrecht Experimental Forest

SNOW REPORT FOR SUNDAY, MARCH 3RD:
Observations from Missoula Nordic Ski Club.

The A,B,C, and F-E loops were groomed on Wednesday. "The coverage out there is still great for as little snow we've gotten recently. The trails groomed well and there were only a few icy spots to watch out for. The bare spots on the way to the F-E loop are getting larger, but once your through the lower area the snow is great."

Re: “Mount Haggin

SNOW REPORT FOR SUNDAY, MARCH 3RD:
Observations from Mile High Nordic Ski Club.

"The temps were too warm today to groom. With the forecast for the weekend, the packed surfaces are going to harden into ice. Fortunately, the snow off the pack will develop a firm crust and we can start thinking about spring skiing (crust cruising). Bottom line, it appears that spring has sprung, and the groomers are shutting down with an epic journey, driving the fleet to summer quarters."

Trails last groomed on Saturday, February 23rd.

Re: “Gash Point

SNOW REPORT FOR SUNDAY, MARCH 3RD:
This is a public observation from missoulaavalanche.org for Sunday, February 24th at the ridge above the south bowl. Snow analysis was done on the north-east facing edge of the bowl, elevation 8,300 feet. Weather was overcast with brief bouts of sun or obscured visibility, with a temperature of 19 degrees. Winds 10-15 mph with stronger gusts on the ridge. Most snow was being transported rather than falling fresh. 6-12 new inches.

"We did not observe any recent avalanche activity. There was a lot of wind transport happening during our tour and evidence of sustained wind activity. The cornices just keep getting bigger and bigger!"

The rest of his test results can be read here.

Thanks Caleb Kasper!
