With temperatures rising well above freezing the last couple days and some significant wind events, it seemed like a great day to head up to Blodgett for some sport climbing.
So off we went to the parking lot wall and managed to squeak in two pitches during the best part of the afternoon. First Swiss Route 10b and then Scream Cheese its immediate neighbor 10d. I felt really good through the cruxes and look forward to hopefully getting out as often as the breaks in the weather allow this winter. Having made more of a commitment to lead climbing into the 11 grade I know I must keep after the fitness and technique if I ever hope to get there and stay there. With Blodgett, Mill, Kootenai and Lost Horse all so close, I am looking forward to making it onto the rocks for more winter climbing. I used to lament the warm ups in the Valley, but now knowing they are inevitable, I will have a great alternative to backcountry skiing!
